Our Story

How it all started
Welcome to Historic Old Home Farm, a hidden gem in the heart of Chester County, steeped in over 250 years of rich history and familial love. Dating back to 1769, our story begins with the vision of Henry Brower, our ancestor, who purchased this land, setting the stage for 11 generations of family legacy.
Our Family
Nancy-Elliott Carter
After a career in nursing, Nancy moved back to the family farm with her husband when they were getting ready to “retire”. Always ready for a party, she started hosting events for her friends, family and church, and found the farm is the perfect setting to celebrate all life’s big (and small!) moments. She loves to help people bring their unique vision to life and gives each event the time and attention needed to make it a stress free experience. In her free time, she loves to catch up with friends, volunteer at church, and plan time with grandchildren.
Kurt Elliott
Growing up on the farm, Kurt learned to love the land and the family heritage, and enjoys sharing it with others. If you visit in the spring to fall season, Kurt will likely be found cutting the grass or fixing something. Preserving the legacy of Historic Old Home Farm and sharing it with the community is one of his greatest joys (and spending the winter months in Florida is a close second!).
Our Story
Growing various crops and livestock for several centuries, Historic Old Home Farm has most recently transitioned from a bustling dairy farm to a cherished homestead, where history and celebration intertwine. The 160 year old barn, witness to the days of cattle, horses, hay, and hard work, now stands as a symbol of our commitment to preserving the agricultural beauty of the property.
While the surrounding landscape has changed, our devotion to Historic Old Home Farm remains the same. Our property is intertwined with stories, especially within the walls of our farmhouse, built in 1769 and expanded in the early 1800s. The farm’s legend, a secret attic room believed to be connected to our family’s abolitionist roots, adds an intriguing layer to our history.
We invite you to our meadows where we host weddings and events, sharing the timeless charm of Historic Old Home Farm with new generations. Sitting on 35 acres, the farm stands as a testament to Chester County’s heritage, and we invite you to become a part of our enduring story.
